The sights and sounds of Morocco are truly overwhelming. You either become intimidated or excited, there is nothing in between! I took my analogue Leica M6 here loaded with film and shot the people going about their everyday lives.
In the 1960's over 500,000 Moroccan Jews left for Israel and from my many local discussions, the country never really recovered after that.
I travelled to most parts of the country, but Marrakech was the most lively and interesting being the gateway to the amazing Atlas Mountains where the Berbers still flourish.

Taken on the hoof with my reliable Leica M6 in manual mode.

The main square Jemaa Al Fna, Marrakech.

This soldier could not stop laughing at me!

The proud Berber.
